Members of the Worship Team shared some “Family Fun” at the Gawel’s home last weekend. It was a time to connect with one another, share some laughs and enjoy life together. Building ‘team’ takes a lot of work. While many ministries require little connection with other leaders, the worship team beckons deep and lasting friendships. We not only minister to the Lord, we minister to each other. A part of that includes spending time with each other off of the platform.
We enjoyed BBQ burgers with all the sides, and we could always count on Dustin Buckner to provide the sweet tea! (Thanks for that again!) We played catch phrase and mono-tunes and laughed out-loud at Seth Lopez’s intense descriptions. We devoured Rhonda Kennedy’s home-made chocolate cheese cake (YUMMMM!) and got to know some new friends as well as cherished catching up with long time members.
We love what we do. Most of us put in countless hours of preparation and dedication to serve Christ and His church and the reward we receive is far greater than anything we’ve worked for. Jesus has knit our hearts together with love for one another and we have set our eyes set on an eternal reward. We are a family, so we play as a family.
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” (Galatians 6:10)
