We all love seasons of hope; when things are going our way and life is alive with promise. When the San Francisco GIANTS won the World Series last year, nothing could dampen the hope and joy my household felt in that moment. I am doubtful anyone enjoys feeling hopeless. However, no one is immune to times of sadness, despair and yes, even hopelessness. It has been in these seasons of my life that I am quickly reminded that God never designed for us to “live” there. While we may briefly visit these seasons of life, we are destined for hope through Jesus.
Psalm 34 says, “I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.”
Here, David is no stranger to difficult times – times of sadness or deep despair. Yet he proclaims, “I WILL…”. There is something powerful about declaring to ourselves what we will be, instead of simply what we are. Sure, we may feel down or face moments of sadness, but we need to remind ourselves that despite our situation, our God is bigger and stronger than anything we face. He is our eternal HOPE!
I WILL praise Him!
I WILL put my hope in Him!
I WILL give Him the praise He deserves!
It’s not about where I find myself today, but I hold on to the HOPE that I know is in Jesus, and I WILL trust Him. The Hope of All Hearts by PlanetShakers proclaims that no matter what season of life we find ourselves in, Jesus is our Hope!
Worshipping with you,
