District Fine Arts 2020
April 4 7:00 am | One Church
It’s time to kick off another season of students discovering, developing and deploying their ministry gifts. The Fine Arts ministry is designed to help students discover and develop their gifts with the intention and hope that they will deploy them in their churches, schools, and communities.
If you are interested, please fill out our Fine Arts Interest Form (Click Here: Fine-Arts-Interest-2020) and return to Pastor Dave or Pastor Dani in the church office by February 5. We will contact you with more details about our first meeting to give you more information about Fine Arts, how each category works, introduce mentors/coaches and give you an opportunity to ask any questions.
What is the purpose of Fine Arts?
First and foremost, Fine Arts is a discipleship tool. Any metric used to evaluate the success of Fine Arts must revolve around local church discipleship. Fine Arts’ purpose is to help teenagers discover, develop, and deploy their gifts. But this does not mean assisting them in getting better at what they do – drawing, acting, preaching, etc. It also means helping teenagers discover the Giver of their gifts, develop a biblically informed understanding of the purpose of their gift and deploy their gift in a manner that best stewards the gift, shares the Gospel and glorifies the Giver. Ultimately, Fine Arts is a discipleship tool that creates a healthy environment for teenagers to wrestle with these two questions:
- How can the Christian artist be faithful to the Gospel while intentionally and redemptively engaging culture?
- How can we best prepare our teenagers in a world that promotes mindless consumption of art?
