In the second chapter of the book that carries his name, we find Jonah praying. This is perhaps one of the worst prayers in the Bible. There is no repentance, no surrender, no alignment, and no care for those God is trying to reach. Rather, it is a prayer full of “help me” moments. Granted Jonah is in the belly of a fish, but still none of his words reflect the heart God has for the Ninevites. Today we close our series by looking at the prayer of faith. Because Jonah’s prayer is all about him, it is obviously not the best example of a prayer of faith. Let’s open our Bible’s once again and look in the text at the prayer of faith.
