I love to read because there are so many wise people to learn from; reading about other’s faith experiences and what God has taught them encourages me. So, here are a couple of books that I love because they have helped me grow! Check them out!

Love Does by Bob Goff

This is one of my favorite books! Goff is a devoted Christian, and his devotion displays itself in love. It might sound obvious that Christians are called to be loving, but if we’re being honest, we can find ourselves getting more caught up in our own routines and forget to share Christ’s compassion in real ways. Goff will make you laugh as you see the importance of not just reading your Bible but taking action and doing what the Bible teaches. Life is really exciting when we live out what God has called us to do.

Everybody Always by Bob Goff

Love Does was my favorite book, and then I read Everybody Always; this is my absolute favorite book. This book is similar to Goff’s first book, but it builds upon the principles in Love Does. The premise is that we are supposed to love everybody, even the creepy people that we don’t want to get along with. As Goff shares his story, he shows that when we decide to love people no matter how different we might be from them, God can use it to transform lives. We grow into a person who looks more like Christ when we audaciously love people as Christ does.

The Road Back to You by Ian Cron

The enneagram is an ancient Christian tool that aids in self-discovery and learning how God has designed oneself. This is not a self-help book, but it is a way for one to see the strengths and flaws in oneself, and this awareness is intended to help one have a deeper dependency upon Christ. As one sees areas of weakness, one is able to work on growing and moving toward healing, and this is only made possible through Jesus.

Remember God by Annie F. Downs

Annie F. Downs has such a authentic way of teaching God’s truth, and Remember God is no exception. Downs humbly talks about her journey and some of the hurts that she is working through and how those issues have impacted her walk with God; she then shows how God proved himself to be everything that he promises. As one reads her story, one will be encouraged to remember God’s character when going through trials. She will encourage you to be real and vulnerable with where you are at in your journey toward growth and healing.
